Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom is a genuine children's paradise where between March and December there's always something taking place. A clean and friendly farm that appeals to all ages and offers close contact with a good range of animals from fluffy yellow chicks and baby lambs to foxes, llamas, deer and ostriches.A regular program of events inspires audience collusion in the shape of bottle feeding lambs, goat feeding, deer feeding and collecting the freshly laid eggs. Events change as the season moves on from spring lambs, to summer exciting pastimes, to Halloween Screams and eventually a normal Yuletide including live Nativity Performances where anything can, and regularly does, occur! The farm has lots of new things to supply families in 2009 including Meet the Horses, The Chipmunk Circus, Bunny Beauty Parlour, the Ball Pool and Raccoon enclosure.
Almost all of the new attractions are clandestine meaning there's more to do when the Weather is unpredictable and visitors do not have to wait till a bright day! There also are Junior Pedal Go Carts and a Rifle Range, Pony Rides, powered mini tractors and powered vehicles. The Bouncy Farm and also other indoor games like giant Connect 4 and a Soft Play Area.
There are indoor and out of doors play areas with pool table, air hockey and table football alongside an enormous picnic area, Tearoom, Break Shop and 2 Present Shops. However, the farm is well known for the famous sheep steeplechase - a 'ewenique ' and highly entertaining must for anybody visiting the area.
The 'woolly jumpers ', with names like 'Black Pygmy ', 'The Snail ', and 'Big Boy ' race over a course with 5 fences - Fleecers Brook, Spinners Chair, Woolly Jump , Darners Ditch and Stable Turn - with a speed and agility to rival their equine opposite numbers. A full race commentary, by former newbie jockey Edward Dorrell, gives a genuine feel of a day at the races. The race season starts on Easter Monday and there's a race each day across the summer - except Fridays when the racers have a rest. There are regular goat races across the summer and Ferret Racing which is lined up to happen in the college vacations.
