Towns and Villages Shropshire

Shropshire has no towns, but twenty-two cities, of which two can be considered major. Telford is the biggest city in the county with a population of 138,241 ( which is roughly thirty percent of the total Salopian citizens ) ; whereas the county city of Shrewsbury has a lower, but still big population of 70,560 ( 15% ).The other big towns are Oswestry, Bridgnorth, Newport and Ludlow.

Stokesay Court

Stokesay Castle, found at Stokesay, a mile south of the city of Craven Arms, in southern Shropshire, is the oldest fortified estate house in Britain , going back to the late 13th century.It is at present in the hands of English Heritage. It's a Grade I listed building.

Shropshire Hills Area AONB

The Shropshire Hills area is chosen as an Area of Excellent Natural Beauty, in the English county of Shropshire, close to its border with Wales. Appointed in 1958,the area includes 802 square kilometres ( 310 sq mi ) of land basically in south-west Shropshire. The A49 road and Welsh Marches Train line Line dissects the area north-south, passing through or near Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Ludlow.

Shropshire is a county in the West Midlands area of England. It borders Wales to the west. Shropshire is one of England's most agricultural and sparsely populated counties with a population density of 91 / km2 (337/sq mi).The shire county and as well as its districts were replaced by a unitary authority on one Apr 2009. The borough of Wrekin and Telford, included in Shropshire for ceremonial purposes, has been a unitary authority since 1998.
